Silverlight 1.1 - How to Create a Media Player

During the June 16th, 2007 Indianapolis .NET Developers Association monthly meeting, I will be presenting an overview of Silverlight. In addition to the overview, I thought it might be helpful to provide a walkthrough of creating a media player using Silverlight 1.1 (the one with the .NET Framework).

In order to prepare for the presentation and provide the content to individuals after the meeting, I decided to create this webcast. Enjoy!

I apologize for the quality of the video, I'm still trying to get the webcast thing down. I wanted everything to be large enough so everyone could read the code. If anyone has some suggestions in terms of how to create a better webcast with Windows Media Encoder, please let me know. I look forward to your feedback and comments on this presentation.

Awesome video - this is the kind of "intro" I've been looking for on SilverLight

For screencasting, I use CamStudio with the CamStudio Codec (free/open source). The codec is a lossless compressed format that takes very little cpu power and works well to not slow down your video. the I use windows media encoder to make a wmv from the avi created by camstudio, and use the screencast templates for quality. This has resulted in some pretty small file with very high quality - i.e. easy to read the text.

I get a maintenance screen when I try to download the code

I apologize, the web host that stores my files is currently under some maintenance. It is scheduled to be down through Wednesday June 27th.

Please revisit tommorow to get the files.

I cannot watch the video. Whenever I load the page, I get Silverlight 1.1 load warning although it is already in the system.
How can I overcome it ?
Regards

Hello,

Unfortunately, I have not been able to update my samples to be compliant with the latest Silverlight install because I have been rigorously working on my book. However, if you would like to watch the video, you can watch it by entering this url: http://campbel8.brinkster.net/sites/webcasts/06-12-2007/resources/videos/video.wmv
